How hydro jetting is different

A cable punches a hole through a clog. That gets water moving, but the walls of the pipe can stay coated. A hydro jetter sends a pressurized stream through a nozzle that cleans in a full circle, so the whole diameter of the pipe is cleared.

That's why it works well on grease buildup, scale and the kind of packed debris that comes back in a few weeks after a simple cabling.

When we recommend it

Repeat clogs in the same line, restaurant and commercial kitchen lines, older pipe with heavy scale, and main lines that have slowed down gradually. If we're not sure the pipe can take it, we'll look with a camera first.

Jetting isn't right for every pipe. A cracked or collapsed line needs repair, not more pressure, and we'll tell you honestly if that's what we're looking at.

What to expect

We access the line through a cleanout, run the jetter through, and then, when it makes sense, follow up with a camera to confirm the line is clean.

FAQ

Hydro Jetter for Sewer Line: common questions

Is hydro jetting safe for older pipes?

It depends on their condition. We check the line first when there's doubt, because a damaged pipe shouldn't be jetted.

Is hydro jetting better than snaking?

For grease and scale buildup, usually yes, because it cleans the full pipe wall. For a simple obstruction, a cable may be all you need.

How often should a commercial line be jetted?

It varies with use. A restaurant may need it on a regular schedule, and we can suggest one after seeing the line.

Can you inspect the pipe afterward?

Yes, a camera inspection after jetting confirms the line is clear and shows its condition.
